I noticed you get an error message when clicking the "duplicate image" button if the name of your disk image is very long. I suppose your script fails when trying to name the copy "Copy of .. " but runs out of available characters.

So until you fix an appropriate error message in those circumstances, anyone who gets the same error could rename the disk image, first, so the name uses less characters, and then click the "duplicate image" button. Then it will work.
