I posted a support ticket (41140) for a kernel memory leak on April 12th and no response as yet. Not to be rude, but is it typical to wait so long for ticket response? I had to reboot my server again this weekend

No, not at all. I perceived your ticket as just letting us know that it was happening (which I appreciate) but one of us should have at least ping you back. However, honestly, I'm not sure what to tell you. It doesn't appear to be widespread. Just yourself and sweh have hit this, that I'm aware of.

In any case, I'll gather up some info and send it along to Jeff.

And my situation is... unreliable. I have made no changes to my system but it's been perfectly stable since the last reboot. This makes me think it's an edge case in the kernel which is only being hit in odd circumstances. Perhaps some race condition leaving pages locked when they should be. I got caught twice in a week and not at all since.

Very very strange.

The one time I have not put a "please advise" at the end of a ticket. I've put in a request for Xen host on my ticket.

thanks,

Francisco
