It's there on a very experimental basis - select 'z - testing' in the kernel list.

Great. Thank you, Peter.

Note that this 'z - testing' pv-grub kernel won't boot automatically; you'll need to be at lish to tell it what kernel to enter. (and please don't leave it there - it spins on a cpu core, so you'll be consuming cpu others can use :)

You won't be able to run stock kernels. They'll either need to be patched with Xen, or support pv_ops.

Right, but we'll be able to run vendor kernels. :)

Any further progress on moving this towards a fully supported option?

I can't say if it's officially supported but I've been booting my Linode using pv-grub-x86_32, and have had no issues whatsoever. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 with the various linux-*-virtual packages installed and everything works great. Once I got the grub menu.lst setup correctly, it was a breeze. I'm running:
Code:
Linux omega 2.6.27-9-server #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 22:53:41 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

What did you do to your menu.lst

If I have to reboot I have to manually enter the information at the grub prompt. Otherwise it just sits there.

Linode has PV-GRUB configured to search for menu.lst at (hd0)/boot/grub/menu.lst.

I had a bit of difficulty getting PV-GRUB working, but eventually got there and wrote an entry on the Wiki about it. Perhaps this may be of further help.

I have updated:
http://www.linode.com/wiki/index.php/PV-GRUB
with instructions to use stock Debian kernel.

Linode is great!

I followed mtrojnar's instructions a few days ago on a Linode I was upgrading to Lenny, and it works like a dream. It's nice to run the official kernel and have a "real" Lenny system, top to bottom.
