When I try and boot a 32-bit image of Ubuntu with the 2.6.30.5-linode20 kernel, it just hangs on the boot-up procedure.

Linode Manager reports that it is up, even though it is not functional (no SSH and no LISH).

Booting with the 2.6.18.8-linode19 kernel works just fine. Even the deprecated 2.6.29 kernel works fine.

We have a small number of hosts that the pv_ops kernels >= 2.6.30 will no longer work on until they get a Xen stack upgrade.

Which host is this Linode on?

Which is one of the affected hosts. Submit a ticket to migrate to a new host, or you can just keep running Latest 2.6 Stable.
