I've been using the iPhone app and it is great. I absolutely love everything I am able to do. I do have a few suggestions/requests though. Some of them may be harder to do than others, but I'm just going to put them out there. I have put them in order of what I believe to be most important to least important.

(1) Add an option to deploy from StackScript
I know it is new, but it would be really nice if you could deploy right from the iPhone and have a fully configured system when it is completed.

(2) Deploy Linux to New Image features
It would be nice if the Deploy screen created everything for you as it does in the web based manager. Right now it only creates the disk image and not swap or the configuration profile.

(3) Ability to add/remove Linodes and Extras
It would be really nice to be able to buy new Linodes and Extras straight from the iPhone or remove unneeded Linodes or Extras. I could do almost all of my management on one device. If this was done I would recommend the user be required to input the password for the account during purchases, just in case the password is saved on app start up.

(4) Transfer balance remaining for individual Linodes (on the View Linode screen) and an account balance at the bottom of the Linodes screen.

These are all fantastic suggestions, and one of them is already planned. We'll take all of them into consideration, and thank you for the feedback!

Since we are giving suggestions...

I would also like the the option of the app remembering my username/password so I don't have to log in every time. I know for many people this would not be desirable, but for some of us not running mission critical apps, it would be nice.

Oh yeah, and an Android app! :D

This was added in version 1.0.3. Try updating the app.

I know this has been updated in 1.03 but how about adding an option to allow setting a PIN. I don't like to leave myself logged in, but having to enter my (long) password on the iPhone keyboard can get annoying.. so how about just having a PIN (just for the iPhone app) to access your linode?

just my 2 cents

I would love to be able to view my bandwidth usage using the iPhone app. Having all of the information in the "network summary" box on the dashboard would be a bonus (monthly transfer, incoming, outgoing, total).

+1

Can't believe I never noticed that it lacked that bit of info...

I really like this PIN idea. I also second all of carmp3fan's suggestions, in the same order.

My suggestions so far are:

(1) console access :) -- I've tried some ssh clients but something integrated (like the ajax console is in the web-based manager) could be way easier to use for emergency access.

(2) support ticket access.

The app rocks. Thank you so much for producing it.

I'd like copy and paste for the api key in the login screen...typing 64 random characters on an iphone is a pain.

email it to yourself, or just browse to API key page. use iPhone's built-in copy & paste.

I tried that but the API box doesn't allow pasting the option isn't there.

I noticed that the host server is not shown anywhere in the app. So it would be nice if you could add that as well. Thanks!

The ability to paste a long/strong password into the box works very intermittently. Not quite sure how/when the "Paste" command is actually invoked. Persistence and luck seem to be the key factors of success. It does not work in the normal manner. The iSSH app, for example, prompts for passwords in a modal window and it triggers "Paste" every time. An improvement to the login procedure would greatly enhance the usability of the Linode app.

Have you tried iSSH? It's not free but is the best one I've found so far. Lots of great features.

I'd like to be able to see backup statuses. Maybe even restore a backup on a down server.
