I would also like to see some way of being able to determine the primary IP address that is assigned to a Linode.

Not sure what you mean by primary here, but you can list a Linode's IP addresses using linode.ip.list.

I am referring to the public IP that is initially assigned to the Linode. I'm trying to automate system configuration and would *like* to be able to figure out which is the primary and which are addons.

I can probably find a way around this, but it would be easier if there was a field similar to the "ISPUBLIC" field.

Considering you can't add a public IP to your Linode using the API, it's safe to assume that your primary IP would be the only one marked as isPublic in the linode.ip.list() results.

If you did add additional IPs through the LPM then the primary public IP (the one that would be assigned via DHCP) would be the first one in the results.

I had thought about it being the first in the list, but I wasn't completely sure if it would always be the first public IP listed. I wasn't sure because I noticed the private was first in one of my listings and second in another.

I have another API request. Could you add a way to update the RDNS for each public IP via the API?
