I'm not sure if this is even feasible. But I would love to see private ports between Linode DC's to enable geographic HA.

I'm not sure if this is cost prohibitive, but i'd be prepared to spend $20/month/port for a feature like this.

Is this something on the horizon for Linode? Is it even technically feasible?

Hello,

If by "private ports" you mean Linode operated lines between facilities, then no, sorry.

One thing to keep in mind is that bandwidth is pooled among all your linodes, regardless of what datacentre they're in. This means that bandwidth caps are never going to waste since they can be used by any linode. This should make the high availability solution a bit less painful.

If you need private IPs between datacenters, you can always set up OpenVPN between your Linodes.

Of course, such connections count against your monthly transfer, but it's at least doable.
