All this talk of managed services got me to thinking.

It would be _awesome_ to have an option on the backup service to copy your [weekly|daily|snapshot] backups to another data center of your choosing.

So for example, I might choose to run and backup in Dallas, but have my weekly backups copied to Fremont for disaster recovery.

I can imagine paying perhaps double for the backups then (so if I'm paying $5/mo for linode 512 backups, maybe I pay another $5/mo to have it in the second facility), plus pay for bandwidth to transfer them.

Sounds like fair pricing. Would be nice if it could come out of bandwidth allotment, though

I agree about bandwidth - I was thinking it would come out of your allotment...and thus "paid" for.
