I just logged in to do maintenance on my linodes, and when I went to the dashboard of a linode, and hit, say, shut down or reboot, I was immediately kicked out to the login window.

After logging in again, I was able to shut down my linode, but then the login form appeared in the middle of the page, and then I was redirected back to the login form, I was effectively kicked out repeatedly like this from my session.

This happened in both Chrome and Firefox.

I don't seem to be having any problems myself, but one thing you could try if you haven't is to flush any linode.com (or at least manager.linode.com) cookies from your browser. Perhaps it's not liking something in existing cookies being held by your browser(s) and thus forcing the re-login. In theory that process ought to reset things, but doing a manual cleaning couldn't hurt, and is at least something you can try on your end.

If your ISP changes IPs on you between requests, or there's some web proxy that you're going through that changes IPs, this may happen to you - since you may get loadbalanced to a different backend.

Hi Chris

Your facts are true, this is a really minor point, and I have not done any in-depth investigation, but I concur with victorkane.

There was a period (roughly around 13:00 GMT) when https://manager.linode.com would require re-authentication every few minutes or so. I was just logging on to the company's account to show a freelancer friend of mine (who wants to move away from "that forced vps->cloud migration") around the dash.

No biggie.

PS: He was very pleased with Backups, DNS manager and Alert Thresholds (in that order).

I have also experienced this, but only when working on a load balanced connection. It occurs when the IP changes, generally speaking (as the cookie/session is no longer valid)
