have worked according to the clone linode to another account userguide.

Everything seemed to be fine until the moment of truth. The final step is missing in the guide...

I copied the image from the sending linode to the receiving linode.

Now, how do I make the copied image (at /dev/xvdb) become the primary image of an ubuntu profile?

Cheers !

I am not sure if this issue is too easy to answer, too complex or sadly too esoteric.

If you have any thought regarding this, please please please say it.

I think you have to edit that Ubuntu profile and look at Block Device Assignment section.

I'm not sure, but select Received Disk Image as /dev/xvda and reboot.
Alternative, you could try to change Root device -> standard -> /dev/xvdb

Thanks drpks !

The guide explicitly suggests using /dev/xvdb.

I guess it'd be pretty messy if I try /dev/xvda without having access to files like resolv.conf and hosts before booting the receiving linode.

You could repair any connectivity issue through Lish.
