Caker / Mike,

Is it possible to add dm-snapshot to the UML 2.6 kernel (CONFIG_DM_SNAPSHOT=y)?

Kernel documentation: Documentation/device-mapper/snapshot.txt

User documentation: "Taking a Backup Using Snapshots (LVM-HOWTO)".

Regards,

Cliff

You can change it as 'm'. and build the module.
copy into your linode, and insmod.

Unfortunately not.

Under Linode (User-Mode-Linux) loading modules into the kernel is one of the privileges we don't have. So this is the way to do it: request the feature be built into the Linode kernel.

In this instance Caker has agreed to have a look at including dm_snapshot.

Regards,

Cliff
