This is a stand-alone testbench for testing the axfr (zone transfer) and parsing of the resulting zone. It uses named-xfer to pull the zone from a remote nameserver, parses the zone file, and then displays a dump of the data structure. It should be fairly obvious from the data dump if it worked correctly.

You'll need to allow zone transfers from 67.18.92.50 for this to work.

It currently correctly parses most records, although I still need to test zones with SRV. If you've got a zone with SRV records, or some other unique zone, I'd appreciate a reply with the zone and the nameserver (or PM if you don't want to advertise it).

Thanks,
-Chris

Zone AXFR, parsing and importing should be working:

(There's also a link at the bottom of the "add domain" page.

I'm testing out the DNS manager, and on trying the AXFR zone transfer, I find that it doesn't seem to have transferred my CNAMEs. Is this known?

[edit: I just manually added them by hand, so if you're seeing them there now, that's why.]

I've just tested this on one of my zones and can confirm that CNAMEs are not imported.

OK. I've got your submissions saved off, so you may see a few more zone transfers as I debug this.

Thanks for the report.

Eep, sorry, I had turned off AXFRs from Linode after doing that - I wanted to get an AXFR to another IP and the interface I use can only seem to handle one IP. I've just switched it back to 67.18.92.50, so you ought to be able to do AXFRs now. Sorry again!
