Would it be possible for the times shown on the network and CPU graphs to be either:

a) in a user-selectable timezone or
b) UCT?

Currently, times are displayed in US Eastern Standard Time, which isn't really a standard timezone for anyone but those who live in it...

One possiblity (although it would take some setting up) would be to specify a zoneinfo when the Linode is set up, which would automatically be applied to the Linode itself and all customer account stuff, forum, etc. Probably too much work there, though.

I agree. It is very irritating trying to match logfile times (with UTC timestamps) with the graph event times.

By your command:

https://www.linode.com/members/timezone.cfm

All the dates I've found thus far, with the exception of the dates on the graphs, are cast to the timezone you specify in that preference page. I'll keep hacking until they're all updated.

Enjoy! :)

Hi Chris,

Super service! Thank you.

Some suggestions

I think the timezone page should read something like this:
Quote:
Current LPM Time Zone

Your current UTC/GMT Offset is: - 5.00 hours

This setting converts the times displayed in the Linode Platform Manager (LPM) to a timezone of your choice.

(Note: this does not change the timezone in your Linode.)

Change your LPM timezone

{drop-down list here}

Also, could you add a link to "Timezone" in one of the boxes in the right sidebar of the Overview page -- perhaps the "Host summary" box is most appropriate. "My Account" page is not where I'd look to change the timezone display settings.

Regards,

Cliff

Resurrecting an old thread for a related issue:

When I select "GMT+8 (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan)" as my timezone, all the graphs would show timestamps that are one hour ahead of me - e.g. when it's 00:00 GMT, the correct time in my timezone should be 08:00 but the timestamps on the graphs would read 09:00.

There is no daylight saving time in my timezone.

It would be great if this can be fixed. Or I can compensate by selecting GMT+7. :)

I'm seeing everything one hour ahead too, and my profile timezone is set to UTC. Apparently the Linode Manager runs on Coordinated Universal Daylight Time.

Hey, you're right. I've got Coordinated Universal Daylight Time too.
