Hi!
I have a problem on my linode, and I'm not really sure how can I approach it... the problem is, that I can't ping my domains (located at ns*.linode.com), but I can ping every other domains. Any ideas? BEcause I certanly don't have 'em...

regards. Wolfy.

Could you please give us less information about your problem? Everything you said is quite overwhelming and I really don't think we can help you with such an abundance of information.

That's very clever. Sure you thought of that yourself?

irgeek: I'm not sure, what else to add. Hence the "weird" DNS issues...

I can't ping my domains from my linode. e.g.:

wolfy@wolfkind:~$ ping wolfhowlmedia.com
ping: unknown host wolfhowlmedia.com

however, from my own machine, I can ping it properly.
PING wolfhowlmedia.com (207.192.71.120) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from li33-120.members.linode.com (207.192.71.120): icmp_seq=1 ttl=51 time=127 ms

I have a bunch of of nameservers in my resolv.conf:
search members.linode.com
nameserver 67.18.92.7
nameserver 64.5.53.6
nameserver 12.96.160.115
nameserver 216.234.234.30
nameserver 69.93.127.10
nameserver 65.19.178.10
nameserver 207.192.69.4
nameserver 207.192.69.5

And I have absolutely no idea, what's going on...

how does that list stack up to what is listed in the members section, under networks. IE is what is listed there the first 3 dns servers that you check?

No, I didn't think of it myself - but I use it when someone posts a question so devoid of information as to be unanswerable. It seems to have had the desired effect - once you posted some information, somebody was able to help.
