The avatar file size limitation is very limiting. Even with a very small avatar, the file size is 12 to 15 kb.

Would it be possible to increase the file size limitation somewhat?

for a (max) 80x80 pixel image, if you're over 6k, may I suggest not using .bmp format?

JPG tends to be smaller than PNG, also.

I'm using jpg with the lowest quality, highest compression possible. I can't get it below 14k. I operated several forums, avatar storage is a negligible use of resources.

Using Gimp rather than Photoshop, I was able to shrink my avator to 3 Kb. It still won't accept the upload.

Oh well, small issue.
