The copyright notice on the bottom of this forum says:

And we're already more than two months into 2009. Outdated notices like that give the impression that you don't regularly check your own website (in this case, just the forum -- your main website correctly says 2009). To make things easier, you should make your template automatically display the current year.

And what is that "TM" sign doing in the middle of nowhere? Are the words "Terms of Service" followed by a vertical bar a trademark of yours?

Well technically, you can't claim that a copyright date is later than the date the content was actually created. So unless that page was updated in 2009, the notice is correct.

As a practical matter, you may be right; that notice may actually end up serving no other purpose than to say "this site is still alive".

I just found that it's now updated as © 2003-2009 Linode, LLC.

In the forums, it's still 2003-2008. Looks like the staff just took the design from the main site and turned it into a phpBB template, and forgot to update it.
