It is possible to have an idea about linode's future API extension ? I think that many developers, not only me(?), would have an API interface for building services in their reselling environments!
It's only a problem of mine? :D
Linode yourself, anytime, everywhere. [/b]

Building out the API is definitely something we plan to do. For the time being, you can script LISH to issue boot/reboot jobs. Just add a lish key under the Console tab and:

Code:
ssh LinodeUsername@hostXX.linode.com reboot

Any word yet on when the API might get expanded past DNS management? I'd love to see (or if need be create) an iPhone app to help manage my Linodes. Would go great with iStat, which I already use for monitoring them.

It's in active development, but I won't commit to a timeline beyond "soonish" :)

We're now performing an early beta test of the new Linode API. Join us in #linode-api on irc.oftc.net if you wish to participate.

good stuff, thanks!

but one thing i'm missing from the API is the ability to pull stats about ee.g. the current bandwidth (like this one here: http://www.linode.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1558)
