I want to sign up with linode on the 540 plan for a Plone website. I have a domain registered with another web host already.

What are the steps involved? I'd like to use Ubuntu 8.04 for the node. I understand I need to install an image for this? And afterwards, what do I do? Just install Plone, and then change the nameservers for the domain on my old web host?

What are the basic steps from signing up with a pre-registered domain, to getting a plone site up and running?

here is the typical way to do this.

config your server how you want it,
copy your site files and db over
setup dns in the linode manager
change name servers to use linode.
shut down your old host.
