In rfc 1035 the email format is defined thusly

email: 'first.last@example.org'
soa record: 'first\.last.example.org'

email 'hostmaster@domain.com'
soa: 'hostmaster'

The api validation checks for standard email addresses, I would prefer to put them in the shortened form so that each address goes to each domain without having to set each one.
