After logging into the forum, my session seems to be timing out after about 30 seconds of inactivity. Perhaps a misconfiguration somewhere?

I've been seeing 502: Bad Gateway errors browsing the forum (via the RSS feed). That's probably related.

There seems to have been some recent changes that have created issues where something on the server side doesn't like some existing forum cookies in browsers.

A bit earlier, I couldn't reach anything under linode.com at all from the browsers with the forum cookies (a browser that I had never visited the forum with worked fine), but then caker tweaked something on their side and at least the main pages started working. However, accessing individual forum posts gave me 502s until I flushed the "linode_forum_t" cookie.

So for anyone else having a problem, I'd suggest flushing the cookie (or just any linode.com cookies) and trying again.

Nope, unfortunately. This behavior is new (within the last week). I am accepting cookies from www.linode.com and have the cookies linode_forums1_f_all, linode_forums1_sid, and linode_forums1_data set.

I notice that the page tries to source some javascript from ssl.google-analytics.com - I have blocked all traffic to that host from my system.

Edit: note that I have blocked ssl.google-analytics.com for months, if not years now, so that's not a new development on my end.

Have you cleared any cookies and started over? Once I did that it cleaned things up for me. But I had to manually purge the cookies - e.g., logging out/in of the forum didn't do anything, for example.

For me it only started happening yesterday or the day before, and I've checked the forums daily recently, so it was fine before that.

Thanks, tried that but no luck. To correct an earlier statement, the cookies being set are from linode.com, not www.linode.com. I made sure cookies are accepted for both domains.

I've been unable to get to the forums at all for the past several days. I thought they were down completely until I tried on another browser just for grins and it worked. In my main browser (FF) I just got 400 Bad Request errors. Deleting the cookies fixed it.

Odd behavior - I tried Konqueror as an alternate browser to Firefox. On FF, both the linode_forums1_data and linode_forums1_sid cookies are set to expire at the end of the session. On Konqueror, the linode_forums1_data cookie has an expiration date which is essentially the same time the cookie was set. My system is set for US Eastern Time and is reasonably accurate (+/- 5 seconds).

I didn't used to experience this, but I am now. Fortunately I have automatic logins enabled, so it's not a big deal, but it's still a bit annoying.

Deleting my cookies did not help. (Unless I should have deleted the CF* cookies too. Hmm...)
