I wish it were possible to assign multiple private IPs to a single Linode. The reason is that I'm planning on having one Linode set up as a load balancer for several others, and it will open a lot of client connections, so it may eventually run out of ephemeral ports under sufficiently high load. If multiple IPs were possible, that wouldn't be an issue, since ephemeral ports are assigned per-IP.

Multiple private IPs are possible, but we get so few requests for it the interface for it doesn't exist on the customer side. If you want additional private IPs, just open a ticket and we'll take care of it.

Another possible solution is to use the private network to establish VPN links to other machines, at which point you can assign as many IPs as you'd like.
