Hi,

I just signed up for my first linode and I'm setting up the DNS. I'm wondering... is that IP address guaranteed to stay the same? If so, I can simply put it in an A record using the web admin at my registrar, and I'm good to go. ? Is there any reason not to do that and instead point them at linode nameservers, and edit the DNS records using the linode web interface? I was going to leave it at the registrar since I can forward emails to gmail for free.

thanks,
Rob

Yes, it's a static IP. You can use whatever DNS manager you want to.

The IP will change if you migrate to another data center, though.
