I am looking to purchase a linode server in the not to distant future and was wondering if you could answer the following questions for me.

I am currently on a reseller, shared server. Can I have a similar setup on a linode server? If so could you point me to a resource that would give me some information.

Thanks

You can put whatever you want on your Linode. But you have to do it yourself, as it's unmanaged.

I think the OP was looking for a different sort of answer.

The best way to imitate a reseller account in a shared host would be to install a control panel on your VPS. A control panel allows you to create sites and manage them from the comfort of a graphical interface. Virtualmin/Webmin is free, but you and your customers (if any) might not be used to it. In my opinion, ISPConfig has a more modern, streamlined interface. Or you could shell out a few bucks and buy a license of cPanel if that's what you're most comfortable with. There's a VPS-optimized version of cPanel, just Google it. It eats up quite a bit of RAM, though.

On the other hand, if you're looking to resell Linode... ?

If zunzun is going to be Tim the Enchanter, then I'm going to be the Bridge Keeper.

Stop! He who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he'll see.

Sorry for the threadjack -- I couldn't resist.

Shredder's younger brother, Schraeder. He never got the kind of press his older brother did, and is not so well known. Only seen in two panels of TMNT issue #12.
