How reliable are the snapshot backups? I'm having issues with daily backups not being made, and when trying to make a manual snapshot, it took more than 24 hours before I cancelled it.

This is on a 8GB Linode, ~120GB diskspace used.

Has anyone had a restore fail because a backup was corrupt, or are restores generally failproof?

Nothing that a support ticket can't resolve.

Thanks, otherbbs, I have been in communication with support for 4 days and was still waiting for the final feedback from support when I posted here. I thought it would be good to hear from users who have actually used the backup system (successfully or possibly unsuccessfully.

[Edited for clarity]

Steve,

Which ticket number?

If this is the ticket / account I think it is, that ticket has been promptly responded to since it was opened, including many updates today and the last update being just three hours ago.

A few days ago we corrected a scheduling bug which was the initial issue you encountered.

Now what you're waiting on is for 120 GB to back up. The space isn't the issue, generally it's the number of files that will cause a backup to take a while.

Oh no - I didn't mean that I waited 4 days for a response, sorry! I mean that I waited 4 days to hear the final outcome. Apologies for not making that clear. As you can see in my last reponse earlier today, I said that I was happy with the outcome.
