I read through many threads on here and library, and tried many different things and could not figure out what could be wrong with my setup but I do have two questions with my gmail setup:

SO I am having two issues; first issue is when I access through mail.google.com/a/fitwow.com, I can send email from this contact@fitwow.com out. But I can't receive email at contact@fitwow.com;

2nd issue is I can't get mail.fitwow.com to work replacing mail.google.com/a/fitwow.com; I added cname=mail and allias being ghs.google.com, but it does't work.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Your DNS looks correctly set up for both inbound mail (slightly odd mixture of character case, but it should be fine) which I can't test and for your home page at mail.fitwow.com, which worked fine for me.

Could you perhaps have not waited long enough for DNS propagation? If it's still an issue, it's possible that DNS locally to your test node still hasn't updated, or that it's negatively caching old information - possibly even triggered by your testing - that has to age out of caches.

Or, if this is a new Google Apps domain, it can take a short while for Google to recognize that DNS is updated (the email status on the console will reflect that it is still being set up).

Basically, make sure (you can check with tools like dig) that the node you are testing from has the latest DNS information. If you're testing mail from some other provider, there may not be an easy way to know just what their own DNS caches hold, other than waiting a while.
