A) I have cloned a Linode to a different datacenter.
B) I have cloned a Linode to the same datacenter.

According to the documentation, in the new Linode I should edit:
/etc/hostname
/etc/hosts
/etc/resolv.conf

I'm forgetting something ?
Is there any difference if it is different / the same datacenter ?

No, it doesn't make a difference if its in the same datacenter. lthough you wont need to change resolv.conf if the DNS servers are the same.

Whatever that enough or not depends whatever you have any services (e.g. apache) that are set to bind to a particular IP.

I think actually the answer is there IS a difference between moving inside the same datacenter and moving to a different one.

Moving inside the same datacenter, you don't need to change any configuration; your linode shuts down, moves, starts up, everything is the same.

It's only when you move to a different datacenter that IPs change and you have to update stuff.

Yes, you are right. But I think he is cloning to new linodes - which does change the IP.

Nothing more ?

I refer to what I said before: there may be other files that need changing as well, depending on if there are any services that listen to particular IPs.

You'll figure out what else to change pretty quickly, that particular service/program, etc. will stop working and will probably throw an error into syslog.
