Tried to add an IPv4 reverse entry in the Linode manager, and got the following error:
Code:
IPv4 reverse domains must be greater than or equal to a /24 network.

Any reason for this?

Edit: and now I see the DNS manager doesn't support PTR records. What's the point of supporting reverse zones at all, then?

Well, it does support PTR records when operating in slave mode.

You do know that rDNS for Linode IPs can be set through the Remote Access section of the manager, right?

Yes, I'm aware. I'm trying to setup reverse entries for a non-Linode netblock which I had delegated to Linode nameservers.

Thanks for the tip about slave mode. It still won't accept a reverse zone for a /16, though, so I guess I'll host the reverse DNS elsewhere.
