There's a very good chance unless: A) caker has a hangover, or B) you entered crap values in your registration information.

i must say, in my experience B happens far more often than A... but you never know.

my guess is that you'll get it sometime today.

I must say I'm not impressed with service or support at this point. I have paid over 24 hours ago and yet I have no login and no access however they have my money. Repeated emails to billing and support go unanswered. Looking else where as I have no need of this crap... :-(

As a happy Linode user, I must say its definitely worth the wait. It seems like a lot of people have been complaining about the wait lately. When I signed up back in June/July I think I waited less than 12 hours.

Caker really should remove the "All accounts are activated within hours." text from the sign-up page...

I guess "hours" doesn't mean "less than 24 hours" though

I hope this wait to get my linode is not an indication of delays getting support...

I'm a happy linode user myself. My wait has been less than an hour, last week, for my activation.

I don't have any complaint to make about this service.

I think the other bad thing is:

Quote:
Unlike other providers we do not set a limit (aka. contention ratio) for number of accounts per server. We have developed a much better method which provides excellent performance for all accounts.

Their method is "CPU Priority". I don't mean that this is bad, but with this clause, they can overload the server anytime and YOU will be the "victim"

Ok, in the spirit of this section.
This should be interesting.
I signed up at 4:45am on a Saturday morning.
Let's see who is awake at this hour,
