Hi All, this is my first post and I hope it's not a stupid one! I've searched for a couple of hours on these forums and online and I cannot find the answer to my question.

I recently moved my website from godaddy to my linode VPS.

I changed my nameservers with my registrar so traffic to my website is now coming to my Linode VPS.

I updated my linode's MX records to point at google apps mail servers.

Google apps is now up and running and I'm receiving and sending mail from and to my linode hosted domain's email accounts.

HOWEVER, I am NOT receiving ANY emails sent to accounts on my Linode domain that we sent FROM accounts on my Linode domain, i.e. the linode is ignoring my MX records for internal mail.

I'm sure it's something simple. I just don't know what!

Just guessing here but most likely you either haven't set up an MTA on your linode, or you have set it up to think it is a destination for the domains you control.

Thanks Steve,

About 30 minutes ago, with no further changes made, all the "missing emails" sent from users at my domain to other users at my domain suddenly came through and such internal emails appear to be being delivered as normal.

I can only imagine this is something to do with the propagation of the new MX records that I set earlier today, although why propagation appears to happen more slowly for internal mail is a mystery to me.

Thanks for the reply though!
