Getting this error when I run

sudo mysql_secure_installation

and hit enter for no password:


ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

Is MySQL Server installed?

Is MySQL Server started (i.e. running)?

OMG no it was not.

I don't know if we are just expected to know to do this. (Probably) But I'm brand new to all this set up and was just following the directions line by line.
