In the Linode DNS Manager, it seems to be impossible to add an SRV record for a subdomain. I request a subdomain box be added, like NS and MX records have.

Support insist that I add a new zone for the subdomain, but I am not happy with this workaround.

This has been mentioned once before in this massive post: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8932&p=51363&hilit=srv#p51363

Yes, that is obviously the workaround to achieve your goal despite this limitation in the dns manager interface but it's a bit dirty, especially if you need a bunch of SRV records.

(Other ways to get there would be not using the dns manager to create your zone data, ie hosting the zone elsewhere/on your own, possibly with the Linode servers as slaves.)
