Is there any possibility of Linode offering kernels with the Kerrighed patch, to support SSI across multiple linodes?

Are there technical reasons why Kerrighed would not work within a virtualization environment? I realize that, as Kerrighed itself is essentially a form of virtualization, there may be performance issues, but that's purely a matter of what an end-user prefers to put up with, not something that makes it impossible from a technical perspective.

You can build and run your own kernel, which would probably be the quickest and easiest way to test it out. I would be wary of its age, though: it looks like it's a modification of 2.6.30, which is old enough that Xen paravirtualization-guest support was a little shady.

Like hoopycat says you can build your own kernel. You just need to make sure every linode in your cluster is on a different host.

I'm interested to know what kind of workload needs such things. PiCloud would save you the whole system management effort if your workload is suitable.

I'm looking to create a multi-user, general purpose system for groups affiliated with a network of local library cooperatives I'm involved with. It may be a while before we need to scale beyond what the largest Linode can handle, but I'd like to know that I can if I need to while still maintaining a single-system image.
