It would be nice if we could optionally add a short arbitrary text note to DNS records explaining what the record is used for.

My particular use case: I moved my bugtracker to a new hostname a while back and yesterday almost removed the old CNAME before remembering that it's also used in some of my Subversion repository URLs. Oops.

And if you're wondering, yes, server journals must use Hello Kitty notebooks. It's required, they're not considered authoritative otherwise.

You don't really need to store these on paper. I went high tech and stored mine on a laptop years ago.
