4.1.8 is still hard masked... I've been waiting for a few months now for 4.1 to go stable in portage so I can look into scripts that take advantage of mysqli. Unless you honestly need it, I'd hold back on 4.0.

Yeah marcus after seeing your post I thought 4.1.x was stable in portage and went into my VPS to check :P Haven't been updating my VPS recently.

I upped the value for the thread_cache to 80m and seem to be doing ok now. (I have refrained from reporting this until it has been at least a few days w/o incident).

If anything comes up, I'll let you guys know.
