Hello,

I'm using a Linode instance and am using sendmail to send emails from my machine
to various users hosted on the linode machine.

i have 2 domains

venuslabs.co.in and
thechaicart.com

both are hosted on my linode machine.

i have a user

admin (on both of them).

hence the email id would be
admin@venuslabs.co.in

When i use the sendmail on command line to send email from the linode machine
it gives an error message that

reason: 550 5.1.1 <admin@venuslabs.co.in> User unknown error

Any help is appreciated in resolving this issue.

- Where are these 'admin' users set up?
- Did you add them to your mail server?
- Do you have a webmail UI configured? If so, can you log in as each 'admin' user separately?
- When you use a non-web mail client, can it connect to both 'admin' users to send or receive mail?
