Hi all.

Any upgrades available for the RAM only? I would love to be able to add 512 or 1024mb RAM but I have absolutely no need for more bandwidth or HD space.

I would hate having to double my cost just to get a tiny amount of RAM.

Any ideas that do not involve chasing some kb by optimisation or switching from Apache?

You double your ram with double the monthly price - hardly a "tiny" increase in ram for VPS's (for local systems, yes, that would be outrageous).

It's just another business expense, so either man up or find another hobby.

I would prefer to pay for stuff I use only. Pity if a tier step up is all that is on offer then.

And no, it is not a hobby. As for the "man up" comment; cut out the sexism.

Upgrading to the next plan is the only option available.

In the distant past, there was an option to add RAM in 360 MB increments for $20/mo, if physically available. This option was removed some time ago. I do not recall it ever being less expensive than upgrading to the next higher plan.

The problem is that Linode can't easily sell "only" RAM or "only" storage without resources going to waste. There's enough RAM and enough storage for some number of Linodes on a server, and increasing either RAM or storage decreases the number of Linodes that can live on that host.
