Hi,

I am trying to automate a process of creating an image/snapshot/backup (whatever it is called) of my disk at a certain point, and then restoring it back to that point later.

So, I am experimenting with Linode API.

1. I see "linode.disk.imagesize" and "linode.disk.createfromimage" - this looks like what could achieve my objective, except when I try it out, it has a limitation of creating disk images of less than 2GB in size.

2. Then I see the guide on using the only custom backup slot after signing up of the backup plan. This indeed could restore me back to a certain point. But it seems there is no way to do this through Linode API. Backup also seems to take a while to complete. In my 2GB ram / 50GB HDD instance, it takes about 30 mins to restore a backup.

Do I miss something obvious here?

Thanks

- Jimmy Chu
