I have a domain name which is on a different hosting service. It currently points to my Linode and that works great. For emails, I'd like it to go through the other hosting service.

The other hosting service told me I have to point the MX record to their IP address. However when I go into Linode's DNS Manager to add a MX Record it does not allow an IP address to be entered.

What do I have to do to receive emails on the other hosting service?

Add an A record that points to the IP address, then add an MX record that points to the A record.
