https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/per ... pconfig-3/

I used this guide above to install my debian 8.1 onto my linode. I installed postfix and dovecot.

I'm having trouble sending/receiving my email.

I went to my ISPCONFIG > Mail Queue Server and i see these messages:
(connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024: Connection refused)

(delivery temporarily suspended: connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024: Connection refused)

I have no idea how to resolve this issue....Can someone please help?

UPDATE: I RESTARTED POSTFIX AND AMAVISD-NEW and it now seems to be working...but I really wasn't aware this was an issue.
I clicked on MONITOR in ISPCONFIG 3 and everything seemed to be ok. NO errors or warnings. How can I prevent this from happening in the future
or at least get warned that something is not working correctly.

Hi,
I suspect Amavis was not running and you resolved that with a restart. Mail is passed to Amavis on that port. It happened to me a few times before I got rid of the email nightmare. If you only need a small scale email setup and Gmail it to expensive Zohomail is also a pretty decent site that offers free custom hosting. I can't stress it enough, unless you really need to have inbound mail on your server don't. It IS the biggest nightmare in my opinion at least.

It might be worthwhile to place a feature request on the ISPConfig bug tracker to ask that Amavis be added to the server monitor.
