Hi,

I identified the need to have users with a quality manager/technical supervisor role,
hence with the capability to read statistics and logs, only that.

Hence I suggest to add in the Global Grants also another kind of grants, which
can be described as "can access to statistics and logs". This kind of grant is
fact is sufficient for a quality manager/technical supervisor role, without
exposing this person to the risk of doing other actions which can affect the system.

I think that this extension is not too difficult and can further improve the system.

Thank you and best regards

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. Linode Manager does not have any statistics and logs on it's own. There's Longview, for which you can give a user the "Access - Ability to manage this Longview client" permission for them to see.

The only logs and other information that would be available are from Linux which means within your system. You can create a user on your servers to allow someone to run certain commands to access information or only view generated logs.

I think that read-only users (users able to see status of virtual machines, their configuration, I/O and CPU usage, left traffic quota, last boot time etc.) in Linode Manager is a fantastic idea. :)
+1
