Quick question: Lets say I made a copy of my Linodes filesystem for local testing. I use a command like:

Quote:
dd if=/dev/ubda of=/mnt/rootfs

Would I be able to download a UML kernel from http://usermodelinux.linode.com and boot the filesystem I made? Is there anything else I would have to do to get it to work properly?

Thanks.

If you had a working UML system then yes would could download your file image and use it.

You can actually download your image add in a kernel and boot it as a normal machine
