Since Linode is dealing with EU customers, Linode as a company and its cooperating companies (data centres, etc) must be compliant with GDPR, as required by the soon to come into effect EU rules.

I haven't seen any changes to that effect, so I'm opening this as a feature request. Linode needs to implement various important new features that inform EU clients how their data is handled (for how long, before they are deleted, etc), including various important checks on how communication happens with the client (email, phone, etc) as well as how data is passed to 3rd party companies (for marketing, for statistics, for law enforcement, etc). There are other matters that need to be addressed, like for example EU clients have the right to request all their current and historical data held by Linode and any subsidiaries. Oh, and don't forget to appoint a GDPR officer!

I'm sure its easy to implement... after all, you have until the 25th of May 2018 to comply... ;)

 I love my computer... all my friends live there.

Hey there

Sorry for the delayed response. You may have noticed a few of the steps we've taken already. We have a new Privacy and Customer Agreement that you will be prompted to look over and accept when you login to your account.

You can also view our new Privacy policy here:

Also our new customer agreement is here:

If you are a part of the European Union or European Economic Area you are welcome to sign an EU Model Contract from within the Linode Manager. If you have specific questions you can email so that we can give you the best answer.

It would be nice if the agreements were more easily printed- I like hard copies :) Thanks for the emailed link to them!
