Dear community,

I thought it appropriate to post this announcement in this category, as it has the very first public forum post and now close to the last...

Next week (Thursday, May 31st, 2018) we'll be setting this phpBB forum to read-only and importing all 15 years of posts into the Linode Community site. Some time in June, we'll be removing the forum completely and decommissioning it. We'll have redirects in place, so all of the search engines and bookmarks and whatnot will remain working.

Come next week, you'll be able to easily reclaim your forum posts on the community site. We'll share those details next week (it's super easy).

We're doing this for a number of reasons: mainly around single sign-on with your Linode account, but also because we're planning more community, collaboration, and sharing features which we'd like to have completely integrated into all things.

I want to thank everyone who has participated in our forum over the past 15 years. You guys are amazing - we've spent a lot of quality time here helping each other, and I encourage everyone to continue that over on the new community site.

Thanks!
-Chris

Thanks for heads up. The new forum has some limitations though not being able to subscribe/watch or bookmark threads on the new forum is really limiting and search isn't that great. Just some feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. We're working on those exact things right now :)

See y'all on the other side!

The official Linode Community website (linked in OP) is a great resource for asking questions. Similar to Stackoverflow but Linode's looks much better. :P

If you all are interested in general discuss, there's the Linodians Forum (https://discuss.linodians.com/) and the Linodians Slack (https://slack.linodians.com/).
