Is there an API for cloning whole linodes (or at least cloning configs/disk images into new linodes)? I'm aware of the "Clone this Linode" feature, but I want it completely automated.

I'm not a programmer, but I don't see why you couldn't use the API to create a Linode, duplicate a disk, and update the config of the linode.

Thanks for the reply.

Of course I'm using the Linode APIs for doing that kind of stuff, but.. There is no API for moving disk images *between* linodes, so it does not solve my problem.

That's achievable though by loading Finnix and scpying the stuff around... But you see, it must be a totally unmanned process and this workaround just doesn't feel to be reliable.

That's why I'm asking for an API.

Any chances for that?

Plus, the hosts aren't subject to the 50MB/s cap and can copy images MuchFaster(TM) (because Linode is awesome and has their knobs turned to 11).
